F*** the Frizz

Forget good, I hope you're having a GREAT hair day.

My good hair days are usually dependent on whether or not I can get someone else to dry and flat iron my hair for me. That's key.

Getting My Hair Did

Admittedly, I'm probably the most uncoordinated person in the modern world when it comes to all things beauty. This includes applying eyeliner or mascara, attaching false eyelashes and straightening my own hair. (Surprisingly, I am able to curl my own eyelashes although I'm still bitter about not being able to find Shu Uemura eyelash curlers in any stores in the US any longer. WTH?!?) Now I don't care what kind of shampoo or hairbrush or flat iron you use - I've invested in the most expensive versions of all of these at one time or another. - if you do your own hair,  it's probably going to frizz right up. Unless you're a hair stylist by trade. Everyone else get ready to board the bus to Frizzville. (The ride is bumpy and the bus stinks of sweaty feet and cheap cologne.)

Here's some photographic evidence of some of my recent hair hits and misses (mostly misses), those times when I've tried to straighten my now longer hair without the help of a trained professional (usually my sister btw). I think the one on the right is actually the best version, but now that I really think about it, it's probably Day 2 of a blowout that either my sister or one of my nieces did.

#LongHairDontCare

Also, if you do your own hair and there's the least little bit of humidity, your hair is going frizz out, leaving you to freak out. Case in point, I was at a party last summer with my sister. We both started out with smooth hair. Before the party got rolling though, my sister turned to me ominously and warned that both of us were going to frizz out soon because of the humidity in the air and the fact that neither of us had gotten Keratin treatments. Ya know what? She was right. (I hate when that happens.)

These are all the reasons why I went and got a Keratin Complex Express Blowout today. My sister did it; she's been a hair stylist for ages. She's uses 'the Express' on all her longtime clients who have issues with the F word, aka, frizz. It takes around 1.5 to 2 hours from start to finish, but guarantees smoother and frizz free hair for up to 2 months.  I'd say that's 1.5 to 2 hours well spent!

A bottle of Keratin Express and a selfie of me post Keratin Express. 'Look Ma, No Frizz.'

Another bonus? You only have to wait 8 hours after getting this done to wash or get your hair wet. Some other treatments require you to wait up to 3 days before you can wash and that means walking around with limp, greasy looking hair the whole time. Ugh.

Another reason to get the Express? If you have any grey hair (I might have a few.), then you should know that grey (whether you camouflage it with dye or not) is much coarser than regular hair. Translation? It's going to frizz out even quicker on you.

So think seriously about getting one of these Keratins. I did and I'm never looking back, especially because now I can even let my hair air dry and it'll still look super smooth

Ciao For Now,
