My RI Life: Suzanne Pritsker Salomon of Providence Diamond
I sit here and write this at one of my favorite local spots - The Grange. Ordered a breakfast taco and a cappuccino. So much of my life currently is "on the go”, trying to do everything and BE everything. Often doing work from my car - when I am parked of course ;). I am a mom to 2 kids, Kurt (5) and Lily (3), and wife to Brandon. I graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a major in Advertising and a minor in Photography. I am the head buyer, creative director and partner in the family business* which my parents started when I was 12. Both my parents worked together and now I work along side my brother and business partner, Daniel Pritsker and my husband Brandon, Director of Operations. A friend in the industry recently said she is a Hybrid. That term stuck with me. I attempt to do everything from making marketing and buying decisions at 9am to going to playgroups with my 3 year old at 11am to checking Instagram in the evening for inspiration - looking for new jewelry designers and to see what’s trending.
Shopping & Style
Clothes and accessories are definitely my weakness.
My favorite spots in RI are Mel & Me in Garden City Center and Galapagos in Charlestown.
Shopping for the kiddos - Mod Mama in Garden City
Favorite place for birthday cakes - Sweet Indulgence in Pawtuxet Village
Beauty & Fitness
Facials and face products - Anna Golub at Renaissance Clinique in Providence
Eyebrows - Mari at Rinnovo in Cranston
Exercise - Joan Bilodeau at Evolve Fitness in Johnston and Raffa Yoga in Cranston.
Cafes & Local Eateries
I am a lover of cafes. Sitting and having a cappuccino makes me happy. I often do my work at a bustling cafe. Favs include:
- Seven Stars on Broadway
- Nicks on Broadway
- The Grange (also on Broadway)
- The Cafe at Easy Entertaining in the Rising Sun Mills on Valley Street
- L’Artisan Bakery in Wayland Square
Restaurants
My husband and I are Foodies. And we are so lucky to live in Rhode Island - Amazing restaurants galore!
La Masseria in East Greenwich - local and delicious
Gracie’s, Alforno and Bacaro - for celebrations and when I want to feel fancy
Matunuck Oyster Bar and Jamestown Fish - I immediately feel as though I am on vacation when I head South. Nothing better than sipping a glass of savignon blanc outside in the summer at these spots.
Another favorite place is Weekapaug Inn in Westerly. If you want to turn off, go here. A true gem in Rhode Island.
Jewelry Rules
There are none! I love mixing metals: Layer, Layer, Layer. What's your story? Tell it with your jewelry. Layer your favorite necklaces. Your favorite bracelets. Rings - Pile them on if you want.
Personal Favorites
A simple stud for everyday (These are David Yurman.) and my necklaces...
We have our Love Knot earrings starting at $35.
Made in America:
Shinola - A watch brand that's manufactured entirely in Detroit
New Favorite Designer:
**It can be hard to play favorites since I hand pick everything in the store. (Each and every piece of jewelry is like one of my babies.)
