This Weekend: So Much Good Stuff

Hey, it's the #PattyJDotCom guide to everything to see, wear, and do this weekend in RI and beyond. Check it out!

1. Eat, Drink And Do Good

Do you like to eat and maybe have a cocktail or two? Well, if your answer's yes, then you're in luck because this Friday night at Rhodes On The Pawtuxet is the RI Food Bank's Empty Bowls event; it's part fundraiser/part 25th anniversary celebration. For only $35, you get to sample food from over 35 local restaurants and you also get a lovely hand crafted bowl. In addition to all that, you might even get to meet my friend Hugh (See his post above.) of the RI Food Bank and #PattyJDotCom guest blogger fame. Tickets are still available.

PS - Hugh's quoted in a piece about native RI'er Viola Davis in this month's Glamour btw - kind of a huge deal.

2. Wear This And Celebrate Your Rhody Pride

RI Necklace, prices start at $130

Had coffee recently - and caught up with - my friend Susan. (We used to work together back in my retails days.) I noticed she was wearing an amazing necklace in the shape of her home state, New York. Turns out, the designer - Maya Brenner - has a whole line of State necklaces, including this Rhode Island one, available in sterling silver or gold, with or without diamonds. Nice!

PS - Maya's designs have been worn by everyone from Debra Messing (who went to high school right here in East Greenwich, RI) and Jennifer Garner to Demi Moore and Eva Longoria.

3. See The Light

Call it a sudden urge to de-clutter the makeup drawer in my bathroom. Call it a lipstick epiphany. Whatever you want to call it, this week, I tossed a bunch of old lipsticks and immediately got myself over to Sephora for replacements. After careful deliberation, a lot of pacing of the aisles and a few false starts, I finally decided that what I need for Spring 2015 is....PINK. **GASP** I know, right? I was just as shocked as you, but somehow, it seems like the right thing to do for right now. Two that made the cut (and that work back to my new t-shirt or sweater with blue jeans uniform)? Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (a long wearing medium pink) by Marc Jacobs Beauty and Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint (It has more pigment than a regular lip gloss, with a lighter consistency than a conventional lipstick) in Enchanted. #Ready4Spring

PS - Crushing on the black Hunter part all weather, part 90's goth boots above. They're especially perfect for the rainy, muddy NE Spring when you wanna look cool and cute without ruining all your leather booties and shoes.

Ciao For Now,

Patty J
