Why You Need To Get A Seat At Table In Barrington
Need another reason to cross the bridge and venture over to the East Bay? We found it, with a little help from our friend G.M., who tipped us off to a sweet little farm-to-table style bistro in Barrington called, appropriately enough, Table. We motored there last Saturday afternoon at 12noon sharp (They're open for lunch from 12 to 3pm, for dinner 5 to 9pm, Tuesday thru Sat.) and were thrilled to get a table immediately, without being asked as soon as we crossed the darn threshold whether we had a reservation, a may-jor pet peeve of mine these days.
Now, let's talk food and coffee. I had the Seasonal Salad with mesclun, shaved vegetables, grains, strawberries, and finally, blueberries (a nice twist). Truth be told, I'm not a salad person as a rule, but since I had to fit into a knit cocktail dress the next night...That being said, it was one of the best ones I've had in recent memory. (Extra credit points for the note at the bottom of their menu that reads: 'Ask us about about vegetarian options.') If you're more of a meat eater, guess what? Their signature burger is also ahhh-mazing. The hubs ordered their Table Burger, with chicken fried shallots (another exciting culinary twist), cheddar cheese, house bbq sauce, and frites. He devoured it and instantly became a fan/convert. And, before I forget, their coffee is ILLY, from Italy. Translation? Delicious and some of the best in the world. (Everything from Italy is usually top drawer, ya know.) Also wished I'd ordered something from their dessert menu, which featured sweets and after din din drinks, but that dress tho. #winkyface
Our only issue with Table was a scarcity of parking. We finally ended up finding a spot nearby, on the street. It's a little extra work, but worth it. Pinky swear to gawd. Yessss, the food is that tasty.
Ciao for Now,
