My RI Life: Get To Know The Rhody Guy Behind Some Of The Best Looking Local Hair

See this content in the original post

Sure, you can click add to cart on the latest and greatest looking bags or shoes. Or splurge on a pair of FRAME jeans. But, as my mom has oft said, if your hair isn’t done, forget about it. (Contrary to what certain popular shows and movies might have you believing, my mom’s of Italian descent and has never, ever pronounced that last past as fuhgeddaboudit.)

Now I recently had my hair done by one Tom St. Germain of St. Germain Studio on Broadway in Providence, and was so impressed with his process and (of course) the end result that I wanted to know more about him and figured you guys would too, so here goes.

His Hair-story

My passion is hair and I have been an active stylist for over 16 years, with 10 of those in Providence.

St. Germain Studio

After about 15 years in the industry (in salon management while continuing to also work behind the chair), I decided to take everything to the next level and open my own salon. In September of 2018, I opened the doors of St. Germain Studio located at 150R Broadway in Providence and the rest is history!

(Note: St. Germain Studio was voted Best Of Rhode Island 2019 by Rhode Island Monthly.)

Local Favorites

I live and work in Providence, and my heart truly lies here. I love so many things about this little city, but mostly the FOOD! There is so much great food and I am a huge foodie. I always say that if I were to ever do something else as a career, I would be a food blogger.

My absolute favorite in the city is Figidini, located downtown on Washington Street in the Biltmore Garage building. They are famous for their traditional Neapolitan style pizza that’s cooked in a wood fire oven. It’s literally the best pie around! My favorite is their Burrata Pizza (They are the originators of this pizza.): It has DOP San Marzano tomatoes that are stamped by the government of Italy, fresh shaved garlic, Calabrian oregano…and Maple Brook Farm Burrata from VT that’s added post oven. It is out of this world! And I also always have to order the Figidini Margarita.

Let Your Hair Do The Talking (AKA, What To Do For Fall)

Now, with the summer coming to an end, and my favorite season rolling in, it’s the perfect time to update!  Come in and let us tame that summer hair by refreshing, or in some cases, deepening your color for the cooler months ahead. At the very least, everyone can benefit from a shine treatment which will breathe life back into those locks after their having been in the sun and salt water the last few months.

On The Runway

I am also on the board of directors for Styleweek Northeast and proud to have been a part of it for the past 7 years. And one of my stylists, Jill, is the Director of the Hair Team.

(Note: Styleweek Northeast Season 17 kicks off this Thursday, Sept 19th at the Convention Center in Providence. Get tix here.)
