These Rhody Spots Are Perf For Fall Photos & Fun Weekends With Your Fave People

Sure, you can wander Providence in search of the perfect photo ops - and Saturday or Sunday afternoons out with your friends or your significant other - this fall, but just about everyone else you know (or have ever known for that matter, especially if you’re a native Rhode Islander) is probably planning on doing the same exact thing. No need to stress, though, because here’s a list of 4 fantastic, change-of-pace places you’ll want to check in from in the coming months.

1) Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge in Foster - Covered bridges are so autumn in New England highlight reel! And strictly speaking, Swamp Meadow is RI’s one and only bridge that fits the bill, being enclosed by a roof and walls. You’ll most likely need one of the navigation apps (Google or Apple Maps, Waze, et cetera) in order to actually locate it irl, but it’s so worth it picture wise. Bring along that aspiring lifestyle blogger friend (or friends…group pics continue to be key on Instagram this year) and have a blast.

2) Pawtuxet River Trail in Cranston - Lace up those L.L. Bean duck boots (You know the drill…they sell out every single year, yada yada), maybe layer on a cardi or puffer vest, and bring along that outdoorsy buddy who hopefully knows how to take a decent I-Phone photo. You’ll find plenty of leaves to crunch under foot (and art direct into your photos) and more for a truly fall-tastic time.

3) The Fire Pit at The Treehouse Tavern in Warwick - It’s just chilly enough at night now for sitting around the fire at this converted farmhouse that dates back to 1860 (or in the nearby “woodshed” that boasts a fireplace and a chandelier) with your squad with one of their signature s’mores martinis in hand. Next step, ask someone to snap a photo of you and your pals, so you can upload it later to your social app of choice. Instagram Superstar Eva Chen does it all the time and it seems to have worked out really well for her.

4) Brown & Hopkins Country Store in Chepachet - BHCS is a nice idea if you need a mini break from the modern day grind. It’s a sweet little historic spot to pick up some hostess gifts (candles, jams and jellies, Rhody themed reads, and the like), especially for those friends who seem to have the Hallmark Channel in regular rotation all year long.
