The South County RI Cafe You'll Want To Text Your Fave Iced Coffee Fan About
The first time I spotted TLC Coffee Roasters in West Kingston, it was because of the ginormous wooden replica of a coffee cup that used to be their sign. Maybe you remember it too? The eye-catching cup faced Kingston Road and if you happened to be driving by, you simply could NOT miss it. I remember taking a photo for social, and then going on my merry way.
After sharing it on Facebook or Instagram, though, a friend of mine who at that time used to make the rounds of all the local cafes and restaurants in the area (not a blogger or anything, he and his wife just enjoyed going out) sent a message saying I needed to go back and actually sample the coffee, pastries.
And that’s how I got hooked on their coffee and treats, their cheekily named roasts and lemon poppy seed muffins (my doctor tells me I should be avoiding seeds…oh well, yolo) in particular.
When I went back last winter, the old coffee cup sign was (gasp) gone. The new, sleeker one announces to the world — or more specifically, all you 4 season iced coffee drinkers out there — that they do in fact have 21 flavors on tap. (See photo above.)
Those include: Jingle Bell Java, French Toast, Caramel Banana, Sea Salt Caramel Mocha, (Regular) Mocha, French Vanilla, Maple Walnut, and Swiss Chocolate Almond. What a mouthful!
I mean, who else locally can boast such a selection, soooo many choices?
Not gonna lie, initailly I missed the other, more kitschy sign, but I feel like the updated version really gets the word out to ice coffee fans who happen to be driving by unaware.
This is the ideal off-the-radar gem for a to-go coffee and a nosh. I mean, you won’t see every other Rhody based food or style blogger updating from here, probably because, lol, they don’t know how awesome it is! (For the record, they have pivoted to carryout with all that’s happening right now.)
If you’re accustomed to drinking the same ole, same ole at area chains that shall remain nameless, you will most definitely be wowed and adding them to your Southern RI rotation going forward.
