If you’re thinking of spending some time in ‘Gansett this weekend (Sunday is supposed to be sunny and in the 70’s, all in all a gorgeous day), you may want to pop over to Java Madness in the Stone Cove Marina on Salt Pond Road in Wakefield.

I first discovered it after getting lost on my way to somewhere else. (You know, those times when you’re feeling cocky and thinking you don’t need to use the gps on your smart phone because you know the area. Y’okay.)

They’re open 7 days; they also have a sweet patio (plastic is up but it is NOT sealed tightly, there are openings and thus fresh air flow) and deck area that look out on the Marina.

Equally as important, they have oat milk for your latte or cappuccino. Their coffee is quite good. And you’ll find a variety of options from baked goods to sandwiches if you’re hungry.

In the past I’ve had their scones (for the record I’m one of the few people who has NOT binged The Crown on Netflix yet) and they were indeed splurge worthy.

The other day I was jazzed to see a vegan veggie sandwich on their menu (see photo above from their Instagram). Of course I ordered one and you should too whether you’re eschewing meat or just want to change things up a bit.

Pre-everything-going-on-now, they used to host live music nights and they probably will again — once it’s okay to do things like that.

Also, I think it’s an incredible spot to meet a friend you haven’t seen since the time before for coffee, breakfast or lunch. The two of you can sit out on the deck and just enjoy the java, food, and fantastic Rhody views.

Or go for a pre or post beach iced coffee and snack.

Sounds like a pretty perfect day out this spring and summer, amirite?

Java Madness is located at 134 Salt Pond Road. Follow them on IG @JavaMadness.

As always, if you stop in for some coffee and a nosh after reading this, please do let them know you found out about them via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
