The Tacos That Are Everything You Could Avo Want For Lunch Or Dinner This Spring

While you won’t find many food or style bloggers documenting themselves ordering or eating it on IG anymore, avocado toast is here to stay. It’s become something of a breakfast or brunch classic at this point.

And I’ve blogged more than a few times about the incredible avocado fries at Perro Salado in Newport.

If you’re looking to expand your avo horizons beyond both of those this season, I have something I think you are gonna LOVE — namely, the tacos made with fried avocado at Chaska in Garden City Center in Cranston. (Also in keeping with my outdoor dining plan for the foreseeable future, they have a terrific patio space with umbrellaed tables and igloos.)

We were there the other day and while I adore how they have expanded their vegetarian options, nothing was jumping out at me. Their jackfruit (a no-meat substitute for pork) centric dishes are quite good, but I was in the mood for something new and different.

Well, after digging into their avo tacos, gotta say they could change your lunch life going forward, whether you are trying to dial down your meat consumption or not. I say this because they are satisfying without being overly filling (nobody wants that bleh feeling of not wanting to move after a meal) and no nuts. I mean, if you have a nut allergy, or someone in your life does, you know how stressful it can feel when it comes time to order at eateries that lean heavily on nut based breads, cheeses, and such. It’s also a little taste of Cali ( after doing some online detective work, I traced these eats back to the opposite coast) in the 02920.

And, speaking of breads, their different naans are a de-light. I dipped my share of their butter naan into the spicy sauce, that came with the tacos, and recommend you do the same. If, like me, you’re a big fan of carbs, these slightly chewy flatbreads are an amazing way to indulge without the eater’s remorse.

As always, if you find yourself indulging in some tacos and naan after reading this, please do let the folks at Chaska know that you found out about these 🌮’s via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
