The Winter Hats That This RI Based Artist Is Knitting Are Snow Wonderful

See this content in the original post

It’s that weird window after the holidays when almost all of the cold weather merch is gonesville (or extremely picked over) and resort is front and center.

Unless you have plans to jet off to somewhere warm this month or next, you know how frustrating this can be.

I mean, January around these parts is all about snow hysteria and Ralphie-from-A-Christmas-Story-inspired bundling up in cozy knits and heavy overcoats.

Now here we are waking up to the first snowstorm of 2022 and so many of us suddenly realizing we are in dire need of a new beanie or three to get us through the next few months. (True story, March can be pretty darn chilly and grey and decidedly NOT springlike.)

If you knit, it could be as simple as a trip to The Mermaid’s Purl in Wickford and some hours sitting in front of the fire or the telie.

Et viola, you have your hat, scarf, or sweater.

But what about those of us who are all thumbs?

No need to stress because a local artist (and another former co-worker of mine from my days at the now defunct Nordie’s at PPMALL) has rolled out a line of hand-knit and substantial HATS.

Quinn is also taking custom orders — because who wants to be wearing the exact same beanie from Anthro that everyone else in their circle is sporting on social?

Check out her IG to request a bespoke one, see new styles and color combinations, and more.
