The Cozy Lounge In North Providence For Small Plates, Sips And Music
Sure, you know Tumblesalts Cafe in North Providence (so many cute themed rooms…we really like the pub for pizza and brews) but have you heard about their new-ish addition?
Their ACORN ROOM (the space that used to be their Hopscotch Room gift shop), open every Wednesday thru Sunday evening has everything I look for in a night spot — a cozy FIREPLACE and stylish vibe, a terrific soundtrack (last night when we were there it was Billy Joel), and fantastic food and sips.
The bartender made me a smokey old fashioned (which included the mini torching of an orange slice), and it was sensational, a fun and flavorsome twist on a classic.
Don’t fancy an old fashioned? Don’t despair because they have a nice menu that also includes martinis (pear, cucumber, espresso and more), negronis, mules and beyond.
The small plates we nibbled on were also five star. I’m talking a charcuterie (with honey and jam), fried eggplant (also with HONEY), seafood (taste and freshness were both on par with anything you might grab in PVD or EG), and some warm cheese & tomato (open-faced-mini) sandwiches that I’m still dreaming about.
They also have live music, usually on the weekends. (Last Saturday night was a disco night featuring RI singer Danny Turok singing all your 70’s faves.)
You will not want to sleep on this one, friends. It’s a marvelous spot for drinks and a nosh with friends, your significant other, or both.
PS — The 2nd level is now a pretty special event space that can be rented out for small receptions, birthdays, etc.
Find the Acorn Room at 2209 Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence, Rhode Island.
