Everyone's Favorite French Cafe In Providence Has Reopened In A New Space
The wait is over! Your favorite Parisian inspired cafe is back.
The new Ellie’s at 250 Westminster Street is open for business, and I was there yesterday with a friend from my days as a Nordstrom manager.
They’ve transformed the space (which was formerly the Greek restaurant Kleos) and oh la la…they’ve most definitely made it their own, bringing along so many touches and furnishings from their previous location including the rolling pins (they used to be on the back wall and are now on the left hand side of the main entrance), the large communal table, and (yes) the rooster.
It feels just like you’ve popping into a darling bakery and bistro on the Rue Cler, Mouffetard or Martyrs (streets in the City of Light that are all famous for being foodie destinations).
If you want to dine al fresco, they’ve brought the outdoor tables over from their old location on Weybosset.
The food? Better than ever!
We had hot drinks (I’m in my London Fog era) and croissants. You simply cannot go with getting either a croissant or a pain au chocolat.
Of course the sweets (macarons and cinnamon buns for ex.) are scrumptious.
I adore their cakes, too. (Want to impress friends and relatives? Bring one to the next gathering or dinner party.)
Don’t stop there, though, because their salads, avocado toast, parfaits, grilled cheese sandwiches, and soups are MAGNIFIQUE!
And I hear they’re going to be rolling out some nighttime events and tasting this fall and winte, too.
Ellie’s is open every Wednesday thru Sunday, from 8am to 4pm, and they are now located at 250 Westminster Street in Providence (RI).
