New & Exciting In RI: Attention Coffee Addicts!

Last week my friend Pamela emailed me about a new coffee place she'd found on Atwells Ave that I had to try asap - Vanuatu Coffee Roasters. (She knows me well.) Their site describes their coffee as 'rare, artisan-crafted, single origin...from the Republic of Vanuatu' (Translation: They are the only coffee house in the area that actually grows their own beans, which also happen to be some of the rarest in the entire world.). I just call it outstanding...Now, quick - get there before your coffee snob co-worker or old college roommate, who seems to always be updating FB these days, go and call dibs on the bragging rights.

For starters, the owners and proprietors, a brother and sister duo who are native RI'ers, could not be any nicer - I mean they knew the name and drink of choice of practically everyone who walked thru the door while we were there. Equally as important, they know their stuff. #CoffeeExperts First, they had me try The Rhody ("Ramp Up With A Rhody"), their signature cold brew. So refreshing, smooth, and yes, life altering. If you haven't had one yet, you're missing out in a big way. I also ordered my usual - a latte made with milk - and it was delicious. None of that bitterness or weird after taste that you sometimes get with lesser quality coffees. Nope...They even guided me - and had me sample more coffee - as I carefully debated which beans to buy and take home.

PattyJ Fun Fact: This is the only place in the continental US where you can enjoy this organic, 100% arabica, volcanic grown (No fertilizers used - only volcanic ash and rainwater from Southwestern Pacific!) extraordinary coffee.

And just when I thought things couldn't get any better, I saw the fresh baked pastries (They have their very own baker! Nothing frozen here folks...And they're introducing gluten free options now too.), breakfast sandwiches, and free WiFi. If I hadn't already made plans to meet friends for an early lunch in Pawtuxet Village, I would've probably spent the whole afternoon there.

PS - As I'm typing this, I'm brainstorming excuses to get back to get more of their coffee. #BorderlineObsessed
