New & Exciting In RI: Long Live Beerworks in Providence

Long Live Beerworks is a young brewery, pleasantly located at 425 West Fountain Street in Providence - an exciting area bustling with small businesses and boutique restaurants, a perfect match for a busy brewery and lively tasting room. Last Saturday was their opening, and they were welcomed by an endless stream of enthusiastic and eager patrons.

From one to five, the West Fountain Street tasting room was abuzz with energy as brewer Armando DeDona (See Photo Above.) welcomed everyone inside. While Long Live Beerworks is a budding initiative, Armando’s brewing history is rich and hoppy, spanning over fourteen years. One of the founding members of the Rhode Island Brewing Society, Armando hopes to spread their delicious brews locally, within the city, and eventually, to craft beer destinations throughout the state.

Inside, we were greeted by a trifecta of Long Live's newest beers. Starting with the Milk Milk Stout, which was light and airy, our group differed on a decision between the ‘Nuff Said IPA and the Black Cat Pale Ale - we simply couldn’t agree which was more fantastic! As far as IPA’s go, the ‘Nuff Said was surprisingly piney with some subtle citrus and malt notes. The Black Cat was phenomenally aromatic, sweet, tropical, and fruity.

Between sampling the beer and discussing our favorites, we also chatted with Brian, Armando’s assistant brewer, who has a decade of brewing experience. Along with the sample glasses, our group left with a couple armfuls of Long Live's custom growlers. It’s clear the team is passionate about their brews, and judging by the response from the crowd, there’s certainly something for any palate. Each guest is able to take home up to two 32 ounce Boston Round Growlers, so it’s safe to say we’ll be enjoying our favorite brews for a while after our visit. If craft beer is a passion you share, you’ll find refreshing drink and plentiful conversation at Long Live Beerworks. It’s worth a stop by their new location, surrounded by great restaurants and atmosphere, to help brew up a night in Providence.
