Before launching GetJanes (based in Providence) in 2012, I worked for a Fortune 500 Company for more than 30 years. My husband Stephen, a local attorney, and I live on the East Side. We have two daughters, Sydney (31) and Olivia (29).
With GetJanes, my goal is always to offer understanding and compassion to women looking for simple solutions, to provide a comfortable alternative to those traditional hospital gowns and johnnies. They're soft, lightweight, kimono style to minimize exposure (Can't say the same for those johnnies!), and easy to pack. In addition to my two sisters, and my mother, all cancer survivors, I bring to the line my own personal experience with cancer. I also try to give back by contributing a portion of all sales to non-profit programs that offer free mammograms to under-served women.
Local Favs
• I like the neighborhood feeling of Broadway Bistro and the comfort foods they serve.
• The Seven Stars in Rumford is best for me because it turns out to be one stop shopping. I often pick up dinner at The Pantry next door, and if it's a really good day, I use the post office across the street. Great artist friends live in the old Fire House next to the Post Office...a win-win!
• East Side Pockets is great because I can walk there for a fresh salad or pocket served up by an accommodating and terrific group of friendly people.
