Movie Making In RI: Get To Know The Guys From 2Cousins Productions
RI film makers Matt O’Connor and Glenn Jeffrey want you to be a part of film making here in Little Rhody. The RI born and bred duo make up 2Cousins Productions. As the name implies, this writing/producing team are cousins who share the same passion for compelling and creative movie making. Both family men with busy lives, they began planting the seeds for their screenplay ideas as far back as 2006. On many a Friday and Saturday night, once the work was done and the kids were asleep, they would meet in Matt’s garage or Glenn’s breezeway and write, often well past midnight.
The Event
August 7th 2CP is hosting a Comedy/Movie Launch Benefit at the Ocean State Theatre in Warwick. They are presenting the show with RI based fund raising comedy group Funny4Funds founded by Billy Simas and Mike Murray. National headliner Mitch Fatel will anchor the evening. This event is being held to support and celebrate the filming launch of 2CP’s first full length feature film, ‘Anders Manor', scheduled to be filmed here in RI in the fall of this year. The 400-seat theatre will be host to an amazing 2 hour show with top comedians, terrific auctions including opportunities to win set passes during the filming of the movie and even chances to actually be in the movie itself.
Food & Drink
Whether impromptu or planned, many of their meetings have taken place at some of their favorite spots. Brewed Awakenings on Rte. 2 has become a mainstay for the pair; great food, drinks and staff. Whether writing or meeting with their writing partners Tommy DeNucci and Mike Messier it has served a great back drop for many a creative moment. Fat Belly’s in Warwick was their spot for writing their first horror movie originally titled ‘The Standing Man’ and is now best known as ‘Anders Manor’, the film they are projecting to film here in RI this fall. For true escape from it all, they hit Sand Hill Cove with the family, followed by dinner and drinks at Buster Krab’s Bar & Grill on the bend in Galilee. This little joint has some of the best food RI and great beach bum atmosphere. And one of their favorite escapes is Pawtucket Red Sox games. The inspiration for their first screenplay, the comedy ‘Hot Dogs!’, McCoy Stadium has been a summer home for over 30 years.
When not writing and producing …. Well, they have 5 daughters between them, so life is a constant flow of homework, sports, and the general craziness that comes with family, work and the building their next career. They are quick to recognize the support they have received from their families, especially their wives who have shown amazing patience with their late night writing sessions and impromptu meetings.
