The Lush, Local Spot For Springing Into Easter

All of sudden it feels like Summer (Yeah, seems like we've skipped right over Spring, but I'm not complaining...yet.), and it's also almost Easter Sunday. If you're looking for somewhere local to go and really get yourself into the spirit, it's gotta be The Farmer's Daughter in South Kingstown. I mean, you can always stuff yourself with chocolates and rice pie, but this place is no cal fun that won't leave you sized out of the skinny section of your closet.

After lunch in PVD yesterday, I motored over to Farmer's to scope out exactly what they've put together for the (new) season and it was, in a word, marvelous. There's an abundance of fresh flowers for inside and out, including the tulips in the photo above, as well as rows of plants and small shrubs or trees (I was raised in the city, cut me some slack.). And that's just the outside. Pretty sure I've skipped over a bunch of other fantastic stuff, mostly because I was concentrating on taking decent I-Phone photos in the bright sun. (The 2 don't mix well.)

The most delightful part of Farmer's though, according to this blogger, is the row of greenhouses and sheds that frame one side of the property. Each section of those spaces actually has a different theme, with various flowers, plants, gift-y items, and props merchandised and stylized to tell the stories. The first being (of course) Easter Bunny-related, with a dozen or so water cans hanging from the ceiling. The other spaces are devoted to motifs like creating your own fairy garden or one consisting  of succulents, including cacti (which is having a major moment over on Instagram right now).

Speaking of the Easter Bunny, there are two egg hunts scheduled there tomorrow, on Saturday, April 15th. Click here for their site and all the deets.

Ciao for Now,

Patty J
