Sensational Spots In RI For Fall Photos & Fun Weekends With Your Favs

Sure you can wander Benefit and Broadway in Providence in search of the perfect fall photo ops (and Saturday or Sunday afternoon) with your favorite people, but just about everyone else you know (or have ever known) is probably planning on doing the same exact thing. No need to stress, though, because here’s a short list of 5 other essential places in the OS to check in from this season.

1) Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge in Foster - Covered bridges are so autumn in New England highlight reel, aren’t they? Strictly speaking, Swamp Meadow is RI’s one and only bridge enclosed by a roof and walls, and you’ll most likely need one of the Navigation apps (Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps) to find it - but it’ll be sooo worth it picture wise. Bring along your aspiring lifestyle blogger friend (or friends…Group pics are everything right now!) and have a blast.

2) Rosmarin in Providence - The fall tasting menu at the current version of this PVD pop-up is in full swing (It’s BYOB, but there’s literally a liquor store right next door!) and also because Laurence Fishburne (of The Matrix, Boyz In The Hood, What’s Love Got To Do With It, Apocalypse Now fame) was spotted there pretty recently having a leisurely dinner. PS - Plant-based options are avail.

3) Pawtuxet River Trail in Cranston - Lace up your LL Bean duck boots (You know the drill, they sell out every single year.), maybe layer on a puffer too, and bring along your outdoorsy friend who also hopefully knows how to take a decent I-Phone photo. You’ll find plenty of leaves to crunch under foot and art direct into your pix. Bonus points if you or your bestie are pet pawrents to a Golden (Retriever or Doodle). Scroll Instagram right now and you’ll see just about every high profile IG personality including one of these pups in their fall fotos and stories.

4) The Fire Pit at The Treehouse Tavern in Warwick - Heck, it was so mild last night for Halloween, I didn’t see a single winter coat on any of the trick-or-treaters or their parents. That spells ideal weather for sitting around the fire outside this converted, circa 1860 farmouse (or in the nearby “Woodshed” that boasts a fireplace and a chandelier) with your squad, with their signature S’mores Martinis in hand. Next step, ask someone to snap a photo of you and your crew, so you can upload it later to your fav apps. Instagram Superstar Eva Chen does it all the time and it seems to work out really well for her.

5) Brown & Hopkins Country Store in Chepachet - One of the books on sale in the store makes mention of it possibly being haunted. That being said, if it in fact is and we had to base the level of scary on a tv show, it would probably be akin to 1990’s (ABC network) Sabrina the Teenage Witch and certainly not the more current Netflix incarnation, called The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. (Believe it or not, even The New Yorker chimed in on the whole Sabrina shows debate and the writer was clearly Team Melissa Joan Hart, lighthearted 90’s version.) Anywho, BHCS is a nice idea if you need a mini break from the modern day grind. It’s a sweet little historic spot to pick up some low key hostess or holiday gifts (candles, jams and jellies, Rhody themed reads, and the like) for that friend who has the Hallmark Channel - and The Little House On The Praire Cookbook - in regular rotation all year long.
