The Restaurant For Dining, Wining & Insta Worthy Views, So Start Planning Your Next Night Out In The OS
Been to Goat Island yet this summer? It might be time for a visit, especially because of Scarpetta, the Italian restaurant at Gurney's (Their other resort is in Montauk, and it's pretty much the place to see and be seen in that neck of the woods this time of year.), and the extreme makeover that the ppl at GR have given the space formerly occupied by the Hyatt Regency. Spoiler alert: it's freakin' fabulous. (Ok, I co-opted that last part from the title of a style guide by Clinton Kelly. Remember him from TLC's What Not To Wear? This was pre The Chew on ABC, and also featured style goddess Stacey London. Never missed an episode!) Yes, you'll want to find a reason to go (dinner, drinks, a staycation, etc.) and get the t-shirt (seriously...the ones in the lobby gift shop are top shelf and I want one of each).
Our dinner at Scarpetta was superb from the bread basket (reminiscent of how Gracie's in PVD does it, with multiple mouth watering options, one tastier than the next...and who among us doesn't adore, or in some cases secretly love, CARBS?) to the entrees (fresh, tasty, and exquisitely presented) and last but certainly not least, the coffee which truth be told, my friend S continues to rave about every single time I've seen her since.
Eats aside for a second, there are also Insta Worthy (search IG and there are so many great snaps!) views of the water, boats on the water, sunsets, and the Pell Bridge from the outside deck seating. So add it to your end-of-summer list because it's al fresco dining in the OS at its finest.
