Keep Your Friends Close And Keep These Fantastic Fries Closer

Keep your friends close and keep your fries closer

Cameron Diaz, Mary J Blige, Joan Lunden (remember her?), and Meghan Markle (now the Duchess of Sussex) are all French fry fanatics. And I’m sure if they were here right now, they’d agree that it can be challenging finding really great fries on a consistent basis. I mean sometimes you’ve probably found yourself settling for some that turn out to be greasy or cold and soggy and ended up hating yourself in the morning (translation - at “like” 2am when you’re wide awake watching season 1 of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel yet again, taking stock of the last 20 years of your life, and contemplating whether or not you should get your lashes tinted). But then there are Friskie Fries, the gold standard by which all other fries in these parts have come to be judged.

Enjoy Your Fry Day

Since they pretty much specialize only in fries (and milk shakes), there’s a level of deliciousness that you won’t find anywhere else. I know some of you might wanna debate (shades of a post about fries I did in year 1 or 2 of the blog - pre Friskie - where people were shall-we-say incredibly passionate about their personal favs), but I dare you to try their Alleycat fries with fresh garlic, olive oil, and Parmigiana cheese and not immediately fall madly in love. Absolutely delish!

All That And A Plate Of Fries

We found ourselves downtown the other day, so of course a stop at the new (ish) Providence outpost of Friskie was in order. Not unlike our new friend the Duchess of Sussex (by friend I mean we follow her via Kensington Royal on IG), I count vino and fries as two of my essential indulgences. And they did not disappoint! Again, back to the Alleycat (almost toooo good, seriously) and their Naked fries (plain with just a dusting of sea salt) for all you purists out there.

**For the record, picked those because I don’t eat meat, but there are plenty of options for all you carnivores.

French Fries And Good Vibes

Also, since the PVD storefront is open til 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, you finally have a place to take those late night fry cravings. Cheers to that!
