This Local Farm Sanctuary's Cow Car Is Back & It'll Put You In The Best Moo-d
While channeling surfing one night last week, I came across All About Eve on TCM and stuck around long enough to watch Bette Davis’ Margo Channing deliver the now classic and oft repeated line, “Fasten your seatbelts; it’s going to be a bumpy night.” (I promise this is going somewhere good!)
Isn’t it funny (in both haha and ah-ha ways) then that the eye-catching Cow Car created by the folks over at Smith & Agli’s Potbelly Manor - that you’ve probably passed on the road in NK or on your way to Wickford at some point - is intended as a tribute to a beloved (now deceased) cow that they had rescued and called “Bette Davis”?

After a bit of a hiccup, otherwise known as repairs, the 2nd version of their beloved, bovine-themed 4 door is back on the road and ready to make appearances not only in Washington County, but also at any number of local parades in the coming year. (Check out their website for more about their 1st Cow Car and previous events that both vehicles have been part of.)
I first blogged about Smith & Agli’s a few years ago at the urging of a friend who used to donate her kids’ old sneakers to them (Not sure whether they still do this or not, but they were collecting used kicks and any money made from the sale of the recycled rubber would go toward running the sanctuary, which is of course entirely devoted to helping save potbelly pigs and other abandoned or abused farm animals.) and after having driven by their purple house and whimsical looking property on Ten Rod countless times.
If, like me, you're obsessed with Facebook accounts like Esther The Wonder Pig (millions of followers and counting thank you very much...we also traveled there in 2017 for one of their Volunteer Days) and Gene Bauer's Farm Sanctuary, this brings all of that much closer to home.
