This PVD Airbnb Sounds Perf For A Winter Staycation & IG Photos With Your Fav Person
The guys who started Airbnb got the idea after putting a bunch of people up who were in town for a tech conference. I know this from binge listening to the podcast How I Built This that just so happens to feature some of the most high profile companies and entrepreneurs of the last few decades.
The accomodation options these days, however, have gone above and beyond an air mattress in the corner of someone’s living room and a breakfast bowl of cold cereal (unless, who knows, that’s your ideal when it comes to traveling…more power to ya!).
Now, after being approached by several Airbnb hosts in the New England area about staying at, and blogging about, their abodes, I decided to start checking out what Rhode Island has to offer in the way of unique and noteworthy accomodations.
I originally went in search of tree or lighthouses and didn’t find any here in the OS, but this one could definitely be described as enchanting. So, with that in mind, let’s commence with some inspo for your staycation wish list for this winter.

Even if you didn’t hit Powerball or Mega Milions this month, you can still channel your inner socialite (Think Babe Paley, Slim Keith or 21st century sophisticates like Aerin Lauder and Lauren Santo Domingo.) with a stay at this stylish West Side space.

The retro chic, colorful decor reminds me of something you might find in the Upper East Side (NYC) homes of larger-than-life ladies like Gloria Vanderbilt (maybe you knew her as Anderson’s mom?), fashion editor Diana (pronounced Dee-anna…who knew?) Vreeland, or perhaps sartorial icon and jewelry designer Iris Apfel.

Also, did someone say Insta and Stories? Because this looks beyond ideal for your next batch of mobile uploads, selfies, and so on - after you’ve grabbed dinner at Nick’s On Broadway, drinks at The Avery, or morning coffee and sweet treats at Seven Stars of course.

In addition, if you saw the recent Gorham Silver exhibit at RISD Museum (wow, just wow…I vaguely remember older relatives ooh-ing and aah-ing over pieces of GS back in the day, but had no idea how truly groundbreaking and influential the company’s work was), you’ll be intrigued further to hear that this house was apparently built in 1870 (during what is considered the golden era of silver manufacturing in the US) by the then President of Gorham.
