We Visited A Budding Flower Market At This Local Rhode Island Vineyard

Days Of Wine And Dahlias

After I started over posting about cut-your-own dahlias at The Farmer’s Daughter in South Kingstown, someone messaged me with a tip about The Dahlia Patch in West Greenwich. (Beaucoup thanks to that person!)

Well, what do you know, that adorable flower market turned out to be located at Leyden Farm Vineyard & Winery in the WG, where everyone looks like they are having the best time! (The owners’ tag line is “combining friendship and farming” which I think is so sweet)

Believe you me, I had some fomo — that’s fear of missing out — the last time we were there and was wishing we could pop over for a tasting.

Srsly, it’s a fantastic spot with Adirondack chairs, porch seating and a tent — all perfect for an afternoon of sip, sip hooray at this family run farm that added wine making to their offerings back in 2010. (You may know them as a destination for Christmas trees come holiday time and you can actually gaze out on the trees in their nascent stages right now.)

For future reference, I hear customers go gaga over their Lazy Watermelon and Apple Jack Russell vinos.

Also: That part of Rhode Island really makes you feel as though you’re in NH or Maine which makes an afternoon outing there feel kinda sorta like an upper New England getaway.

Yes, you’ll probably want to grab a glass or two of vino there soon, but you simply cannot miss The Dahlia Patch cart and garden.

The ladies who helped us were so sunny and the selection of dahlia and sunflower arrangements was terrific!

I grabbed a sunflower in a vase that was a replica of an old time-y milk can for my momma and she LOVED it.

They are open weekend afternoons only, so plan accordingly. (The forecast for this coming weekend looks promising by the way.)

The Dahlia Patch is located at 120 Plain Meeting House Road in West Greenwich.

As always, if you find yourself putting the petal to the metal AFTER READING THIS, do let the folks there know you found out about them via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
