Meet The Cranston Native And Author Who Just Published A New Book
Hi! I'm Lauren Giammarco, writer, space healer, auntie and a lifelong RI resident currently residing in the East Bay. I always joke that I'm a homebody who loves to travel, but in my travels I have found there is nothing quite like the Ocean State. I rediscover the beauty of this state with every season. Having miles of coast line to enjoy all year long even in the winter months is truly special.
As a child growing up in Cranston I always loved writing and it became a dream of mine at a young age to become a published author. I recently published The Unbecoming with New Degree Press, which documents my healing journey from a debilitating chronic illness. The journey back from chronic illness sparked that passion in me for wellness and self care that I felt was important to share. I have always believed in the power of storytelling to help and inspire others. The book takes the reader on the deep healing journey of uncovering our true selves and is filled with mindfulness practices, expert advice from leaders in the wellness industry, the importance of the mind body connection, and daily mantras for moving through healing and personal transformation. I was overjoyed to learn the e-book version became the #1 new release on Amazon in the wellness category.
Aside from my writing, I work as an account manager with a company located in beautiful Bristol (RI) and I am the owner of Mindful Spaces, a business I began over a decade ago to help others combine simplicity and functionality in their lives through space clearing and organization.
I am in love with the RI food scene and actively seek out the best places for plant based, seafood, and my all time favorite, BBQ.
If I could dream up a perfect summer food/shopping day in my part of town I'd have to say for breakfast I'd head to Bevvies, a juicery and smoothie bar located on Main Street in Warren, grab a lean & green smoothie and take a stroll down to Warren Town Beach for a peaceful water view.
For lunch I'd take the driver over the infamous Mount Hope Bridge and land in Newport for some seafood at Scales & Shells on Thames Street, and definitely pop into The Salty Babe to check out their new summer arrivals. After taking in the sunset on the East Bay bike path, I'd head to Great Northern BBQ Co in Providence for their amazing brisket plate and cornbread.
I'm very excited to announce my upcoming book event being held at Cafe Park on Sunday September 18th, from 11:00 am - 1:00pm. I've teamed up with two other local authors for this pop up event. To purchase a copy of The Unbecoming, you can head to Amazon or my personal page which includes additional published works, and you can find me on Instagram @Lauren Giammarco_author capturing sunsets and my love for nature.
