We Had 2nd Breakfast At This Sweet Diner In Woonsocket, Rhode Island
Thought I knew all the best diners around the state, but alas, I was wrong.
When my husband was running Woonsocket (he’s running every street in Rhode Island) a while back, he passed the Patriots Diner and thought it might be somewhere blog-worthy.
Fast forward to yesterday around 2 o’clock pm when we popped in for some breakfast food because we wanted to try somewhere new.
There are some retro touches throughout, including little signs on the walls that are nods to foods and companies from yesteryear.
More importantly, the folks there are nice and the service was on point: We were greeted enthusiastically and seated immediately on Sunday.
Also, as with any really good diner, they have a ginormous menu with more than 2 pages chock full of brekkie fare like omelettes, pancakes, waffles, and such.
Not craving a stack of blueberry flapjacks (there’s nothing skimpy about their short stack, see photo below) and some fried eggs? You’ll find an impressive array of hot and cold sandwiches, salads and more.
Something for everyone in your circle!
And the portions are HUGE, so bring your appetite.
Another thing that appeals?
Their. Hours. Of. Operation.
Seriously…have you ever tried getting food after 2pm at most of the other local diners?
Most, if not all, close the doors by 2.
Patriots is open Sundays until 4pm.
Yet another reason to give them a whirl.
