The Coventry Christmas Light Display To Get You Into The Holiday Spirit
MERRY & BRIGHT: It started in 1992, was put on pause in 2018 & 2019, returned in 2021 with a slightly scaled down version, and is back again this Christmas bigger and better than ever.
I’m talking about the Conway Christmas Lights Extravaganza in Coventry, Rhode Island.
Now we only just found out about it last December, but so many locals have fond memories of bringing their kids every xmas. Yes, it is indeed a huge yuletide tradition for so many other RIers.
If you’re a newbie to the extravaganza experience, you will be floored by the well over 100,000 lights (8,000 on the house alone…I can’t imagine what their electric bill for December will be), made-by-hand and ginormous wooden TRAIN with Santa at the helm (also smoke coming out of the thing), old time-y snow people and reindeer, and tons of other holly jolly figures.
They are open nightly until Christmas Day, Sunday thru Thursday from 4:30 to 9pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 4:30 to 10pm.
And phone photos really do NOT do it justice. It truly has to be seen in person to be believed, and fully appreciated.
The Conway Christmas Light Extravaganza is located at 265 Maple Valley Road in Coventry.
