We Had Coffee, Donuts, And Muffins At This Delightful Providence Cafe.

I give you “The Big Spoon,” my drink of choice at Rise N Shine in PVD.

Having Coffee In PVD

Before you even open the door, look up and you’ll spot a giant metal cup and saucer hanging from the sign. Woah!

Next, you’ll notice so many nods to the space’s history, including a previous chapter when it housed a cobbler…vintage wooden shoe forms greet you at the entrance and there’s an entire section of them from all over the world on one wall. (It was also a carriage house, a photographer’s studio and storefront, and more, lol.)

On the opposite side there’s a leather and wood shoe shine bench set-up, antique looking but newly made by the owners of the shop, inspired by the ones at the old Providence train station back in the day.

Yes, the interior and exterior are both LOVELY but I’m really here to talk about the coffee and the food…

The coffee drinks — including popular sips like “The Big Spoon” (made with ORGANIC espresso + ORGANIC raw caramel syrup) and the “Lavender Fields” (made with ORGANIC espresso + lavender syrup + lemon zest) — are DIVINE and you simply will not find another cafe that serves them up in such a delicious and delightful looking way.

Also, they bring in only the finest baked goods and treats: donuts from KNEAD and pastries from a small batch baker situated right in the cap city. I mean, what could be better?

Everything’s tippity top quality and taste. (Did you see that they use only ORGANIC espresso. That’s major in my book.)

The team there is also all about service. (Hey, 13+ year veteran of Nordstrom telling you this, so come on.)

Frankly, the folks at Rise N’ Shine are bringing a big city coffee experience with a heaping helping of panache and whimsy to the cap city, not far from my old stomping grounds, PPMall, when I was a manager at Nordstrom Providence.

Find ✨ Rise N’ Shineat 97 Holden Street in Providence, RI.
