Want the ultimate non-touristy, casual food experience in one of the sweetest parts in the state?

Go straight to The Cooked Goose on Watch Hill Rd. in Westerly.

They have morning papers (still love leafing thru an actual newspaper), delicious coffee, and a fantastic menu of classic morning and afternoon mains and sides. 

The team there is terrif too — your order might take a few extra minutes but that’s because everything is cooked to order and nothing is hanging around under heat lamps or whatever, so the wait is sooooo worth it.

Regulars go gaga over their super fresh salads, French toast, burgers, eggs, daily specials, their to-go options, and more.

The takeout is wonderful, too. I lived on their lemon angel hair pasta a few years ago while recuperating from some emergency surgery in Watch Hill during the month of August.

You also never know who you might see (celebrity sightings are possible, so do look up from the paper or your phone), but you didn't hear it from me, wink.

They even have t-shirts and such if you want to announce your super fan status to everyone in Lil Rhody.
