The New Pizzeria In Bristol From The Owners Of Pomodoro Restaurant
Last time my husband and I checked in from Pomodoro in Bristol (we were staying at Mt. Hope Farm at the time), a bunch of people started asking when their pizzeria was going to open.
The anticipation was indeed palpable.
Ever since then (this was back in May), I’d been keeping a close eye out in order to find out the where and the when of this NEW pizza place everyone could barely contain their excitement about.
Well, Pio’s PIzzeria officially opened their doors the other day — and I just had to motor over with my friend KG to eat pizza and check out the space.
The interior is lively and fun with several walls covered in bright, colorful replicas of vintage Italian (food & drink) ads and a neon sign announcing “Welcome Pizza Lovers” that is visible once you make your way over to the counter to place your order.
The menu has a satisfying selection of pizza pies (from classic cheese and Margherita to clam, caprese, a Bianco which we ordered without the Gorgonzola, and many more) in addition to grinders, calzones, salads, and small bites like fried ravioli and mozz sticks.
Also, there is a gf option when it comes to crust and you can go with a cauliflower one if you’re feeling as though you want something a little bit different.
The team was wonderful too, getting us our food quickly and pleasantly.
It’s like stepping back in time to your favorite pizza parlor from when you were a kid…only better.
My advice? Get over to this cas Italian eatery before all your friends start raving about it.
I mean, you don’t want to get left out of the hoopla.
