We Had Lunch At This Italian Deli In North Providence And Wow

The hubs and I had lunch at this iconic Italian deli on Mineral Spring in North Providence the other day, and it was so enjoyable from start to finish.

We got hot sandwiches on soft rolls — Tom ordered the chicken parm and I opted for their eggplant parm, both in the small — at Pauly Penta’s and WOWZA.

These sandwiches are available on hard or soft bread and in small or large sizes and gotta say, their smaller versions are big enough to satisfy even the most hangry among us, lololol.

I simply cannot say enough great things about these grinders, from the fresh bread and the warm and melt-y cheese to the luscious and flavorful gravy. Just so, so good!

I also grabbed a bag of their ricotta cookies for my Italian American mom which she dipped into later that day, with her after dinner coffee. And they got the thumbs up from her, which says a whole heck of a lot.

Not in the mood for a hot or cold sandwich? Pauly Penta’s has you covered with to-go 1/2 gallons of soup (it is, after all, peak soup season around here…psssst, I see that today’s special is a chicken escarole), salads, deli cold cuts and sides (including snail salad, cherry peppers, and mozz, basil & tomato), coffees and San Pellegrino, calzones and pizzas, sweets (the cannolis and sfogliatelle were calling my name), and so much more.

The team there was incredibly helpful and patient with us (so much to choose from…you know how difficult it can be to settle on something), greeting as as soon as we walked in and getting us our order pretty darn quickly.

If you’re looking for some classic and no-frills old world Italian eats that you remember from your nonna’s or auntie’s kitchen when you were growing up, you’ll definitely want to add this place to your fall and winter rotation.

The hubs and I would go back for lunch or takeout in a heartbeat.

Find Pauly Penta’s at 1290 Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence, Rhode Island.
