Oh My Gourd, These 3 Rhody Spots Are Perf For Fall Photos With Your Squad
Raise your hand if your feeds are suddenly flooded with a ton of great looking October photos from around the state. And you know what that translates to, right? A serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out) for those of us who haven’t quite gotten around to any apple or pumpkin picking, leaf gathering, or doing the cranberry bog thing. (Speaking of which, if anyone wants to invite me to a cocktail party at - or tour of - one of the many bogs in nearby Mass., I will clear the calendar.) No need to get all panicky, though, because here are three local places where you can immerse yourself in all kinds of autumnal awesomeness.
Quite simply, the Rose Shack is a Rhode Island classic. Pop over for some marvelous looking mums (I mean, are the ones in the pic above something or what?) and pumpkins. And maybe snap a few photos. There’s a reason why it’s wildly popular with IG bloggers and professional photographers…and locals who live for digging in the dirt (also known as, gardening). This colorful, inviting oasis on Tower Hill Road in Saunderstown offers an accessible way to truly get into the autumnal spirit and jazz up that front stoop whilst you’re at it.
PS - Pretty sure Ocean State-based, OG blog Superstars KJP and Sarah Vickers are among the marquee names who have done photos there, which is kind of a huge deal.
You won’t find a prettier farmstand around these parts! I, for one, never miss a chance to visit The Farmer’s Daughter - especially during the month of October (although for the record, their deck the halls game during Holiday is strong too!). If you’re looking for a stunning spot for pumpkin shopping, leisurely strolling, and I-Phone photo taking, motor over to 716 Mooresfield Road (No doubt you’re passed it on your way to either URI or downtown Wakefield.) in South Kingstown. The only thing that could make it more complete would be if they opened some kind of coffeehouse or cafe.
Did someone say….lunch or dinner with a fall-tastic backdrop? There are award winning sandwiches at Shayna’s, the truly delish pizza at the new-ish Mickey’s just down the street, or how about some truffles from The Captain’s Table around the corner. And Wickford Village def has you covered as far as a gorgeous EXTERIORS for all those photo ops. Foliage. Historic houses. And right now, a ton of incredible looking Halloween decorations. (You’re Welcome!)
