The Rhody Tees You'll Want To Add To Your Jeans & T-Shirt Rotation
If you’ve frequented the Providence Flea at all this summer, you may already be familiar with the t-shirts, onesies, and aprons from the collective known as Parched PVD.
Everyone in-the-know on social has been buzzing about their Mario (as in Hilario…formerly of the NBC 10 Weekend Sunrise show and now of the (daily)News Sunrise broadcast, replacing the retiring Frank Coletta) tees, aprons, and as of this week, stickers recently.
I was also pretty impressed to see that they are giving a % of the proceeds from the sale of their Mario Collection to the Food Bank RI.
Not long ago, I went in search of some Mario merchandise, and was pleasantly surprised to also find so many great cotton shirts options - with everything from Providence and Coffee Milk (Get one for the Autocrat fan in your life!) to Gondolas and onesies with images of the Federal Hill “Pine Cone” (Yeah, I always thought it was a pineapple too - until some Rhody history aficionado filled me in on the deets.) that’s hangs from the famous Arch at the top of Atwells.
One thing I have to stress - especially if you’ve been down the novelty tee route before (and experienced something less than stellar) - is that these are incredibly soft, tag-less (those with sensitive skin will rejoice!), and easy to wear.
Moreover, I wouldn’t be surprised if at some future time, Bill Murray (who was in fact spotted in the Ocean State a bunch of times last week) was photographed wearing one of their t-shirts while out and about in NYC (Side bar, one of his sons actually opened A BAR in Greenpoint about three years ago.) or wherever.
