The Pies At This Movie Theater Turned Pizzeria Are So Delish, And You Can Get Them Delivered
Last January, B. and I were thrilled to get an opportunity to spend an afternoon with Billy Manzo, master pie maker, owner of Federal Hill Pizza, and raconteur, and his wife Christine, at their original location on Chalkstone Ave. in Providence.
They also have another restaurant on Main Street in the town of Warren and I would certainly be remiss if I didn’t mention here that their Providence space used to be the ole Castle Cinema.
First off, who doesn’t love devouring pizza? (More about that in a second!) When it comes to actually making it, well…that’s a whole other can of tomatoes.
And I can assure you that William Manzo, Jr. takes pizza very seriously. That day he walked us through his process and we were thoroughly impressed with his philosophy, attention to detail, and the end result — in other words, THE PIZZA we ended up noshing on.
Now pandemic or not, I love a brick oven pizza and have been known to eat as many as 4 or 5 slices in one sitting. If you feel the same, you’ll be jazzed to know Federal Hill has door to door delivery now and always, via Grubhub or go directly thru them (which is what I do).
Last week I jumped online and ordered two of their Margherita pies for our weekly Pizza Friday celebration at home and they were like a little pieces of the heaven that is Southern Italy. (See photo below.)
Also, equally as important, I didn’t have to leave my house, get in the car and motor over to the 02908 to get my hands on them.
I highly recommend giving Federal Hill Pizza a follow over on Instagram and ordering pies for you and your pod by way of their site FederalHillPizza.com. You’ll be really glad you did!
